The Block - Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’re designing The Block with our youth in mind. We want them to be excited to be there, to be in community together, and to grow together! We’ll have lots of activities, flexible seating arrangements and lots of special components to make this a space that they will be proud to call their home! While it’s going to be first used for SuperStart Saturday on June 7th and our first Sunday meeting there will be on June 8th, it will be open to view on Next Steps Sunday, June 1st!

  • As a church we are growing, and we want to best meet the needs of our kids and our community. The Block will be vital in helping us to do that. In regards to the Kids team, we’re thrilled that our 4th and 5th graders will have a space of their own, specifically designed for them. It’s such an important age for kids to have a safe space to be comfortable, be real, and wrestle the big things in life - this is the perfect place for that.

  • Yes and no. It’s in the same set of suites, but there is one office in between. This unit is the one closest to the road and will have signage identifying it as ours!

  • Our Security Team has a presence outside of our building, diligently watching the doors to ensure the safety of our church and our kids. They will be strategically located to oversee this additional area of our church. Our kids team is also trained to be aware of security concerns. We will always have a teacher near the door to ensure no one comes in that shouldn't or that any children won't leave.

  • We will have a nearly identical check-in station experience for parents as they enter The Block. At every check-in station, you can get the tags for all of your children. At The Block, volunteers who serve in this space will be happy to assist you with any troubleshooting during check-in.

  • Our check-in system will integrate our two locations. You can check in all of your children at any location, and the parent security stickers will be the same for all of them. It is essential that you physically drop off children aged birth through 3rd grade. We highly recommend doing the same for your 4th and 5th grade children who will meet at The Block. Our systems automatically populate with an attendance sheet, which we regularly reference to ensure the presence of everyone checked in. With this feature and the presence of our Security Team, it is possible for a 4th or 5th grader to safely walk over to The Block with their printed tag on, and to enter the space on their own.

  • Yes, there are water fountains and multiple accessible bathrooms for our children to use.
